How We Built Malta Daily's AI Host
Turning a real presenter into a multilingual, always-on digital agent.
The Challenge
Malta Daily wanted to engage audiences beyond Malta—without flying a team around or filming content over and over in different languages. They needed a digital host that could present, answer questions, and speak to people anywhere, anytime.
The Solution: A Custom AI Agent
We created a personalized interactive avatar powered by our AI agent stack. Here's how we built it:
1. Digital Twin Creation (Avatar + Voice Cloning)
We built a photorealistic avatar that looks and sounds just like their presenter.
- Text-to-speech voice cloning to match tone and cadence
- Lip-syncing and facial animation to keep it lifelike
2. Brain Training (Context-Aware Prompt Engineering)
We fine-tuned the agent using:
- Past interviews and scripts
- Brand tone guidelines
- Frequently asked questions
This allowed the avatar to answer questions contextually—like a real host would.
3. Language Expansion (Multilingual Support)
We embedded multilingual capabilities using real-time translation pipelines, enabling the avatar to:
- Automatically detect user language
- Respond in English, Maltese, French, Spanish, and Italian
4. Autonomous Engagement (Agentic Logic + Eval Loops)
The agent doesn't just talk—it acts:
- It chooses which content to show
- Redirects users to resources
- Collects feedback
- And improves over time using evaluation metrics
We implemented custom evals to track:
- Accuracy of answers
- Viewer engagement time
- Response speed
